Looking to build your first solid finance foundation in a real operating environment? Grain Field Chickens (VKB Group) is recruiting a Finance University Graduate in Reitz, Free State, where you’ll support the finance team across creditors, debtors, reconciliations, reporting and audit support while completing structured on-the-job training.

What this opportunity is

This is a graduate internship designed to develop practical finance skills through on-the-job training. You’ll assist finance team members with day-to-day finance tasks and build competence in key processes and internal systems under guidance and supervision.

What you’ll do / learn

You’ll gain hands-on exposure across creditors, debtors, the general ledger, reconciliations, reporting and audit preparation, while learning company systems and finance procedures.

• Receive and verify supplier invoices and supporting documentation for creditors payments
• Follow up on missing documentation and ensure payments are authorised according to procedures
• Process day-to-day accounts payable transactions and monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
• Forward transfer proofs, cheques and receipts to suppliers and attend to supplier queries
• Complete monthly creditors reconciliations and maintain updated supplier files and filing systems
• Prepare customer invoices and ensure timely delivery of invoices and statements
• Process authorised credit notes and handle customer queries on PODs, invoices and statements
• Monitor debtor accounts for irregularities and follow up with customers to support payment collection
• Complete monthly debtors reconciliations and maintain accurate filing of invoices
• Maintain general ledger and sub-ledgers, perform reconciliations and analyses, and process journal entries
• Assist with internal and external audit processes and preparation of monthly management accounts and reports
• Support month/quarter/year-end processing, asset register maintenance, and age analysis inputs
• Complete additional finance tasks as required by management

Eligibility requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) or National Diploma (NQF 6)
• Qualification type: BCom Accounting / Financial Management
• Must be unemployed and require practical experience
• Must not have benefited from an internship, learnership, or graduate programme before
• Must be joining an Internship/Graduate Program for the first time
• Computer literate in MS Office (essential)
• Willing to work overtime, including weekends, when required
