SALearnerships publishes learnerships, internships, apprenticeships and entry-level jobs in South Africa — with a focus on helping you apply using the correct official route.
Important Notes
- “Verified by us” means we checked key details against an official or clearly traceable source at the time we published/updated.
- We do not process applications and we are not recruiters for employers.
- Always confirm details on the official source before submitting personal documents.
What “Verified by us” means
When a post includes the label Verified by us, it means we reviewed the listing information against an official source (where available) at the time of publishing or updating.
This usually includes checking some or all of the following:
- The opportunity exists on an official employer / public entity / SETA / university / reputable vacancy source page
- The opportunity type matches the source (learnership / internship / apprenticeship / job)
- The application route is visible and sensible (official link, portal, or official email address)
- Closing date and location are captured if stated by the advertiser
- Basic requirements are listed and broadly consistent with the source
Important: “Verified by us” does not mean we guarantee selection, represent the employer, or control the hiring process. It means that we checked the listing details against our verification checklist, at the time we last reviewed it.
The sources we prioritise
Where possible, we prioritise official and reputable sources such as:
- Employer careers pages and official vacancy portals
- Official government and public entity websites
- SETA websites and official programme pages
- University/TVET college pages (where applicable)
- Official application forms and official adverts (PDFs) published by the sponsor
If a listing appears on a secondary site or is shared via social media, we try to trace it back to the original advertiser before treating it as credible.
Our verification checklist (what we check before publishing)
1) Source legitimacy
We check whether the listing appears on a credible source and whether the source looks consistent with the organisation publishing the opportunity (name, domain, branding, contact patterns, and application route).
2) Opportunity details
We capture the details you need to decide whether to apply, such as:
- Opportunity type and title
- Sponsor/employer
- Location/region (if stated)
- Requirements/eligibility (as stated)
- Closing date (if stated)
3) Application path
We check that the application method is clear (for example: an official portal, a careers page, or an official email address). We also try to highlight any “gotchas” like reference numbers, subject line requirements, portal steps, or required uploads.
4) Clarity for applicants
We format listings to make them easier to read quickly — especially on mobile — so you can avoid missing key instructions.
What we do not guarantee
Even when a listing is verified, details can change after publication. We cannot guarantee:
- that a listing remains open after we publish it
- that deadlines will not change or be extended
- that requirements will not change
- that external portals/websites will remain online
- that an applicant will be shortlisted or selected
Safety note: You should never be asked to pay to apply for legitimate learnerships, internships, apprenticeships, or entry-level jobs.
Updates, corrections, and expired listings
Where possible, we update posts when links change, closing dates change, or important details are clarified. If a listing is confirmed as closed, we may update the post to indicate this clearly.
Sometimes older posts remain online for reference (for example, to help you understand typical requirements and application formats). To reduce confusion, we may also mark older posts as closed, exclude them from search/indexing, delete them or guide users back to newer intakes and category pages.
Scam warning (please read)
If something feels suspicious, pause and verify first. Common red flags include:
- Requests for payment to apply, “register”, or receive forms
- Unofficial email domains that don’t match the organisation
- WhatsApp-only applications with no official source link
- Vague employer details, unrealistic promises, or pressure tactics
- Requests for sensitive info too early (bank details, OTPs, etc.)
For a simple step-by-step verification method, read our guide: Learnership Scam Warning and Verification Guide.
How you can help us improve
If you notice a broken link, expired listing marked as open, suspicious details, or missing information, please contact us and include the page link if possible. Community reports help us keep the site accurate and useful.
We also welcome suggestions to improve our offering. We’re a small volunteer team, so response times may vary — but we do review messages and use them to improve the site.
FAQs
Do I apply through SA Learnerships?
No. We do not process applications. We publish listing information and direct you to the official application link, email address, or careers portal provided by the advertiser.
What does “Verified by us” mean on a post?
It means we checked the key details against an official or clearly traceable source at the time we last reviewed the listing. You should still confirm details on the official source before applying, because things can change.
What documents do I usually need?
It depends on the listing, but common documents include a CV, a certified copy of your South African ID, Matric/qualification certificates, and any supporting documents requested by the advertiser. Always follow the specific instructions in the post and on the official source.
What if I find a broken link or suspicious listing?
Please contact us so we can review it. If possible, include the page link and a short description of what looks wrong (for example: “link is dead”, “deadline passed”, “someone asked for money”).
