What this opportunity is

What you’ll do / learn

You’ll complete structured workplace training while building practical competence in mechanical fitting and machining principles, tools, and plant maintenance practices.

  • Receive structured workplace training in a mining and refinery environment
  • Develop a solid understanding of mechanical fitting and machining principles
  • Gain exposure to first-line maintenance of mechanical equipment
  • Work with assembly, disassembly, and alignment of mechanical components
  • Use measuring tools and interpret engineering drawings
  • Learn to maintain plant equipment within normal operating parameters

Eligibility requirements

  • Completed N2 or NCV Level 4 Certificate in Mechanical Engineering
  • N2 subjects must include Mathematics, Engineering Science, Fitter Trade Theory, and Engineering Drawing
  • Basic understanding of fitting/mechanical trade principles
  • Medical fitness to work at both BMR and PMR plants
