What this opportunity is

This is an entry-level automotive apprenticeship designed for candidates who want to learn a trade and develop into a qualified vehicle technician. You’ll work in a dealership workshop environment while supporting qualified technicians and completing prescribed training as part of your development pathway.

What you’ll do / learn

You’ll build practical workshop experience under supervision, learn how jobs are planned and recorded, and attend training sessions that support your development as a vehicle technician.

  • Assist a qualified technician with servicing and repairs to vehicles
  • Learn how to accurately clock times on jobs
  • Confirm you understand repair order instructions before work begins
  • Learn how to plan a job and identify parts that must be ordered
  • Attend prescribed training as part of the apprenticeship

Note: This is an apprenticeship opportunity and does not guarantee qualification or long-term progression unless you successfully meet the training and workplace requirements throughout the programme.

Eligibility requirements

  • Must reside in Vredenburg or surrounding areas
  • Grade 12 (Matric), with Mathematics and Science as subjects
  • Automotive subject is advantageous
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
  • Interest in motor vehicles and mechanical/technical work
  • Good timekeeping and ability to work under pressure
  • Good verbal communication skills (training is mainly in English)
