What you’ll do / learn
The successful candidates may support merchandising, stock handling, customer assistance and store presentation duties.
- Restock merchandise as needed to support maximum sales.
- Ensure delivered stock or stock pulled from the storeroom is packed in the correct space timeously.
- Check that stock on shelves has not reached its sell-by date.
- Ensure the full range of products is available on the shelves where possible.
- Rotate stock regularly using FIFO principles.
- Report low stock levels, out-of-stock items, damaged stock and expired stock to management.
- Assist with counting stock files and general stocktaking.
- Follow Dis-Chem operating standards, store layout and planograms.
- Flatten boxes after unpacking stock and move them to the designated area.
- Ensure front-shop shelves and products are neatly presented and visible.
- Check that products have correct labels and pricing.
- Report price discrepancies to management.
- Keep up to date with current and new products.
- Build, face up, stock and maintain merchandising displays.
- Maintain the daily physical upkeep of store and merchandise displays.
- Assist with loading and off-loading stock.
- Ensure items without barcodes are clearly marked.
