What you’ll do / learn

You’ll gain practical experience in core cash-centre functions, including deposit handling, note sorting, reconciliation, coin processing, and treasury support. The work is process-driven and accuracy-focused, with strong emphasis on compliance, balancing, and following SOPs.

  • Receive deposits and update them on the applicable systems.
  • Check containers/bags for damage or interference and report anomalies.
  • Process deposits in line with bank SLAs and SOPs.
  • Prepare workstations for accurate and efficient note counting.
  • Sort prepped deposits/notes within same-day cut-off times.
  • Reconcile rejected notes and manually check for counterfeits, dye-stained, or mutilated notes.
  • Perform end-of-day balancing and reconciliation of cash received.
  • Process desktop deposits and ensure all deposits remain separate per customer.
  • Process bulk coin deposits and teller coin transfers.
  • Support prepack/treasury functions, including packing and unpacking bank and ATM cash.
  • Use equipment according to SOPs and report defects to the Team Controller.

  • Grade 12 with Maths Literacy.
  • 6 months previous cashier/teller experience is advantageous.
