What the position involves
The Casual Frontshop Assistant will help ensure that merchandise is correctly stored, replenished, rotated, priced and displayed.
The employee will also assist customers with stock queries, maintain the appearance of the shop floor and storeroom, and help prevent damaged, expired or missing stock.

Main duties and responsibilities
- Restock merchandise when required.
- Move delivered stock from the storeroom to the correct location.
- Ensure that the full product range is available on the shelves.
- Rotate stock according to the first-in, first-out principle.
- Check stock for expired or damaged products.
- Report low, damaged, expired or out-of-stock products to management.
- Assist with cycle counts and general stocktaking.
- Maintain a neat and organised storeroom.
- Ensure that shelves, labels and prices are correct.
- Build and maintain merchandising displays.
- Assist with loading and offloading stock when required.
- Handle merchandise carefully to reduce losses.
- Help customers with product and stock queries.
- Assist with back shopping when required.
- Maintain a clean and tidy workstation.
- Follow store health, safety and operating procedures.
- Wear the required uniform and name badge.
- Report suspicious behaviour to management.
Minimum requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Between zero and six months of retail work experience.
- A driver’s licence or reliable transport, as listed in the advert.
- South African citizenship or a valid work permit.
- A clear criminal record.
- A clear credit record.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
