What you will do

• Support customer service at the point of sale and record transactions on Dis-Chem’s operating system in line with company policies and standard operating procedures.
• Build professional relationships with customers, respond to merchandise queries, and report customer complaints or compliments to the Frontline Supervisor or store management.
• Process purchases and accepted payment types, including cash, bank cards, vouchers and coupons. Process refunds and exchanges when authorised.
• Process loyalty cards, including those of listed accelerator partners.
• Manage cash securely: keep money in the till, place cash in the drop safe according to standard procedures, and handle daily takings confidentially.
• Ensure line voids and price changes are approved and signed off by a supervisor. Scan outgoing items and ensure they are paid for.
• Follow customer-service and security procedures, remain alert to risks, and report suspicious behaviour to management.
• Stay aware of current sales and promotions and work towards the customer turnover hourly rate.

• Be a South African citizen and have clear credit and criminal records.
• Have reliable transport and/or live close to the store.
