Main duties and responsibilities
- Make sure the full product range is available and neatly presented on shelves.
- Restock merchandise and supplies when required.

- Store delivered stock and merchandise from the storeroom in the correct places.
- Check that displays, labels and prices are correct.

- Process purchases at the point of sale.

- Exchange or accept returned merchandise when authorised by the Frontshop Leader.
- Place cash in the drop safe according to standard procedures.
- Obtain approval for line voids and price changes.
- Maintain an accurate cash flow.
- Keep daily takings and transaction records securely in the till drawer until deposited.
- Ensure that outgoing products and prescriptions are scanned and paid for.
Stock control and customer service
- Rotate stock regularly according to Dis-Chem procedures.
- Report low, damaged, expired and out-of-stock products.
- Assist with stock-file counts and general stocktaking.
- Help load and offload stock when required.
- Flatten empty boxes and move them to the designated area.
- Build professional relationships with customers.
- Provide friendly, helpful and courteous assistance.
- Report customer compliments and complaints to management.
- Assist with the training of new and existing team members.
- Report suspicious behaviour involving staff or customers.
- Maintain Dis-Chem’s housekeeping standards.
- Follow health, safety, uniform and personal-appearance requirements.
