What you’ll do / learn

  • Report customer complaints and compliments to the Frontline Supervisor or store management

  • Be responsible for cash flow
  • Ensure all line voids and price changes are approved and signed off by the supervisor
  • Exchange merchandise for customers and accept authorised returns
  • Receive and process all accepted forms of payment
  • Process loyalty cards and partner rewards cards correctly
  • Ensure cash is placed in the drop safe according to SOPs
  • Keep your code and password secure and updated
  • Ensure all outgoing stock, items, and scripts are scanned and paid for
  • Keep all money safely secured inside the till
  • Handle daily takings confidentially
  • Recognise and report suspicious behaviour to management
  • Address queries regarding store merchandise

  • Education: Grade 12 / Matric
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 months’ cashier / till operations experience
  • Computer skills: Computer literate – MS Office
  • Numerical ability: Sound numerical skills
  • Language: Strong command of the English language
  • Customer-facing ability: Basic customer service
  • Availability: Willing and able to work retail hours
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of operating cash registers and maintaining cash drawers
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of processing sales, refunds, and payments
  • Strengths: Accuracy, attention to detail, presentability, emotional intelligence, social awareness, accountability, problem-solving, basic report analysis, trustworthiness, and time management
