Eligibility requirements

Applicant requirements

  • Must have Grade 12 Mathematics, not Mathematical Literacy, and Science with a minimum E symbol, together with two N2 trade-related subjects; or
  • Must have a minimum N2 with the relevant four trade-related subjects.
  • Must have trade theory in the relevant trade being applied for.
  • Must have a minimum Symbol E / 40%; subjects with F symbols will not be accepted.
  • Must be able and prepared to undergo a psychometric assessment.
  • Must be able and willing to work shifts, standby duties and call-outs when required.
  • Must be able to cope with pressure, be innovative and be a self-starter.
  • Must be able to identify faults without supervision.
  • Must be in possession of, or able to obtain, a valid Certificate of Fitness.
  • Must have a valid K53 driver’s licence.
  • Must have no criminal record.

Trade-related subjects required
