Minimum requirements

  • Be unemployed and available full-time for all six months.
  • Have Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent qualification.
  • The advertised age range is 19 to 25. Europcar says it may allow flexibility depending on individual circumstances.
  • Be proficient in English and able to use Microsoft Office, email and the internet.

Experience: Europcar does not specify a minimum number of years in a call centre. The application form lets you indicate that you have no experience and are willing to learn. A valid driver’s licence and the ability to speak additional South African languages are advantages.

Shifts and screening

You must be willing to work shifts, including weekends, public holidays and overtime. You must also be willing to undergo criminal and credit checks under company policy. Consider how you would travel to and from Bruma for these shifts.

What you will learn

Learners attend classes and practise what they learn in the call centre. To complete the programme, you must finish assignments, assessments and workplace tasks and put together a portfolio of evidence.

  • Handle a booking from the first enquiry: check vehicle availability, explain prices and promotions, and create a reservation.
  • Update a booking when a customer changes dates, needs the car for longer or cancels. Keep the customer’s records accurate.
  • Listen to complaints, resolve what you can and refer more complex cases to the right person. Follow up on outstanding requests and meet the team’s call quality and productivity standards.
