Documents to prepare
The advert specifies:
- Certified copies of your Matric certificate and ID.
- Your full academic record.
- An in-service training letter from your institution for WIL.
Also prepare an updated CV for your recruitment profile. Show your qualification’s full name, institution and completed theoretical studies clearly. Check that every scanned page is readable and that your academic record includes all relevant results.
Check your institutional requirements
Ask your WIL coordinator whether the placement needs institutional approval and what supervision, reports or assessments your qualification requires. Confirm these arrangements before accepting a placement so that you understand how the experience will be recognised.
If your qualification has a different title, explain its relevance through your modules and academic record. Do not assume that every computing or business qualification automatically meets the advert’s wording.
Remuneration and programme arrangements
The advert does not confirm a stipend or salary, start date, working hours, transport assistance or accommodation. Ask the recruiter about these arrangements if shortlisted, and review the written terms before making travel or financial commitments.
Keep your institution informed of any proposed start date. Check whether it fits your academic timetable and whether you need to complete any placement paperwork beforehand.
Application checklist
- Match the qualification name on your CV to your academic documents.
- Describe relevant coursework, projects and software skills accurately.
- Use examples showing how you solved a problem or contributed to a team.
- Distinguish academic projects from formal employment.
- Check that your email account is accessible and your phone number is correct.
- Save copies of the advert, uploaded documents and submission confirmation.
