What you’ll do / learn
The role gives successful applicants practical exposure to retail merchandising, stock control, customer service and store operating standards.
- Restock merchandise to help maximise sales.
- Pack delivered stock and stock pulled from the storeroom in the correct spaces.
- Check that stock on shelves has not reached its sell-by date.
- Ensure the full range of products is available on shelves.
- Rotate stock on a FIFO basis.
- Report low stock, out-of-stock items, damaged stock and expired stock to management.
- Assist with stock counts and general stocktaking.
- Follow Dis-Chem operating standards, store layouts and planograms.
- Keep shelves, displays and front shop products neat, visible and correctly priced.
- Provide friendly, helpful and courteous assistance to customers.
- Assist with loading and off-loading stock where required.
- Follow health and safety rules, SOPs and company policies.
