What you’ll do / learn

The role gives successful applicants practical exposure to retail merchandising, stock control, customer service and store operating standards.

• Restock merchandise to help maximise sales.
• Pack delivered stock and stock pulled from the storeroom in the correct spaces.
• Check that stock on shelves has not reached its sell-by date.
• Ensure the full range of products is available on shelves.
• Rotate stock on a FIFO basis.
• Report low stock, out-of-stock items, damaged stock and expired stock to management.
• Assist with stock counts and general stocktaking.
• Follow Dis-Chem operating standards, store layouts and planograms.
• Keep shelves, displays and front shop products neat, visible and correctly priced.
• Provide friendly, helpful and courteous assistance to customers.
• Assist with loading and off-loading stock where required.
• Follow health and safety rules, SOPs and company policies.
