Givaudan – Production Learner

Givaudan is offering a Production Learner role to gain hands-on experience at one of their production sites. In this role, under direct supervision, you will follow established procedures to deliver production orders assigned by the Shift Leader and Senior Production Operator. You’ll perform a variety of simple, manual tasks such as blending, mixing, dispensing, packaging, and quality testing—all essential for producing high-quality products that make a positive impact on billions of lives.

Programme Offerings

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must have a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate with passes in Mathematics and Science
  • Forklift operation skills are preferred
  • No additional benefits are provided with this role
  • Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups in line with Givaudan’s Employment Equity goals

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Technical Skills:
    • Basic mathematical, reading, and recordkeeping abilities
    • Proficiency in MS Office and other basic computer skills
    • Ability to safely lift 25kg

    • Strong interpersonal skills and a team player
    • A proactive approach and a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic, creative team environment

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Production Operation:
    • Operate designated production equipment (e.g., blenders, sieves, spray dryers, batching systems) under supervision
    • Perform tasks such as blending, mixing, dispensing, packaging, heating, cooking, and quality testing
    • Collect and load raw materials in accordance with formula specifications and production orders
    • Maintain accurate records of operations and conduct troubleshooting with guidance
    • Prepare product packaging for subsequent production stages or final shipment
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and participate in lean activities
    • Attend all required classes and successfully complete your learnership programme
  • Housekeeping & Safety:
    • Maintain a clean and orderly shop floor and workspace
    • Ensure all safety and sanitation standards are met in compliance with GMP, OSHA, HACCP, FDA, USDA, and internal safety guidelines
