About The ECD
The field of early childhood development (ECD) is crucial in determining how young children’s educational paths will be shaped.
Since early education is so important, the ECD role has been transferred to the Department of Education in an effort to professionalize the industry and guarantee that every child receives high-quality early education.
However, many ECD centers, which are frequently organized as non-profit organizations (NPOs), encounter several difficulties in adhering to rules, reaching benchmarks, and obtaining funding.
In addition, children’s learning and development are hampered by the lack of trained teachers.
Innovative programs are being launched to improve the quality of early education while addressing these issues and advancing the ECD sector.
These initiatives also aim to give young people access to employment possibilities.
The Gauteng City Region Academy (GCRA), the Health and Welfare Sector Education and Training Authority (HWSETA), and BlackBark Productions have formed a spectacular three-way relationship to build a special program to enable youth employment and staff ECD centers with qualified ECD teachers.
The program’s main goal is to have at least one certified and fully trained ECD instructor at each ECD center.
The initiative seeks to hire about 2,800 people who will go through extensive training and be put in registered and legal ECD centers.
There are a lot of young people who can be taught to assist ECD centers.
These young professionals will make sure that kids get a good education while playing by giving them expert advice and creating a supportive learning atmosphere.
