Description
IUCN is offering an Intern – Instructional Design opportunity under the PAPACO programme at the South Africa Country Office in Pretoria. This fixed-term contract position (3 months) is designed for students in their second or third year specialising in web design, web development, instructional design, multimedia, or digital communications.
The intern will assist the Papaco team in developing 12 online courses (6 in English and 6 in French) on a custom-built OpenEdx platform. Key responsibilities include integrating course content using basic HTML/CSS, creating clear slideshows with Canva, reviewing final outputs, and researching tools to enhance course development efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
- Integrate course content into OpenEdx using platform tools and basic HTML/CSS
- Assist in creating clear and seamless slideshows to support the course content using Canva
- Review the final outputs and provide proactive feedback
- Research potential tools, including AI, to improve course development efficiency
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the Papaco team
Eligibility & Requirements
- Education:
- Second or third year student in web design, web development, instructional design, multimedia, or digital communications
- Skills & Competencies:
- Good knowledge of HTML/CSS and web best practices
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies
- Proficiency in English; French is an asset but not required
