The Community Mobilisers role at eThekwini Municipality is a permanent position focused on implementing community development programmes and projects within the eThekwini Municipal area.

The successful candidate will work under the Regional Services Co-Ordinator and play a key role in facilitating community initiatives and providing input into policy development.

Program Offerings

  • Position Type: Permanent
  • Job Grade: T07
  • Department: Programmes and Projects, Regional Services Branch
  • Location: eThekwini, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa
  • Remuneration: R218,077.44 – R283,086.84 per annum, plus a 13th cheque
  • Additional Benefits: Housing subsidy, medical aid, pension fund, and leave benefits
  • Special Conditions: Must be willing to work after hours and over the weekend

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must have a Grade 12 certificate (NQF Level 4) or equivalent
  • Must possess a valid motor vehicle driving license
  • Minimum of 1 year relevant experience is required
  • Preferred: Higher Certificate in Public Management or Public Participation, with 2 years’ experience in community initiatives

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implement community development programmes and projects
  • Facilitate activities for various community development forums within the eThekwini Municipal area
  • Contribute to the development of Community Development Policy
  • Assist in establishing local community development initiatives
  • Execute identified projects as outlined in the business plan
  • Provide regular progress reports to the Regional Services Co-Ordinator and update them on agreed plans
