This 12-month internship provides unemployed graduates with practical exposure in Group Life Operations, supporting administrative and operational processes across areas such as underwriting, billing, claims, disability management, and back-office administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile broker reports using internal systems (SFE and Compass).
  • Index documentation correctly on the relevant system.
  • Coordinate medical requirements requests for members exceeding the free cover limit (via brokers or Service Consultants).
  • Support member onboarding by loading member details and coordinating nurse-completed medical documentation with the Smart Service team.
  • Manage billing portfolios (30–40 Debit Order schemes or 25–35 EFT schemes, standard schemes).
  • Monitor and manage work items to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Assist with claims assessment for new notification claims under close supervision.
  • Support reminder communications for pending Global Education Protector (GEP) claims.
  • Assist with compiling reporting related to GEP claims.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Matric / Grade 12 (essential).
  • BCom Degree or Honours.
  • Must be aged 18–30 (essential).
  • Must be a South African citizen by birth or naturalised before 27 April 1994.
  • No work experience (essential).
  • No previous internship or graduate programme in any industry or government institution.
