This 18-month programme aims to equip participants with essential knowledge, practical skills, and workplace experience to prepare them for a career as a Procurement Officer — responsible for coordinating procurement activities, managing supplier contracts, and overseeing procurement schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain operational schedules for procurement and supply.
  • Manage supplier relationships and contracts effectively.
  • Monitor and measure procurement performance and outcomes.
  • Attend scheduled classes and actively participate in discussions and activities.
  • Complete assignments, projects, and practical logbooks as part of the learning process.
  • Write assessments to demonstrate understanding and knowledge gained.

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven.
  • Willingness to learn and contribute in a structured learning environment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be unemployed and not enrolled in any other learnership or qualification programme.
  • Must not be in possession of a completed post-matric qualification.
  • Must have completed Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics Literacy and English (minimum Level 4 in each subject).
  • Must be a South African citizen with a valid South African ID.
  • Age between 18 and 35 years (in line with NSDSIII).
  • Must provide an SAQA/NLRD verification report.
  • For persons with disabilities, a medical certificate or ITRDD13 form confirming the disability must be submitted.
  • Deaf or hard-of-hearing applicants must provide their own interpreters at their own cost.
