Key Responsibilities
- Participate in an agriculture-focused graduate placement programme within the Department of Agriculture.
- Gain practical, hands-on experience at relevant farms or enterprises within the agricultural value chain.
- Support activities and operations that contribute to agricultural development and agri-entrepreneurship.
- Apply theoretical knowledge in real-world agricultural and agri-business environments.
- Build professional networks and gain exposure to potential entities that support emerging entrepreneurs.
Attributes Required
- Good written and verbal communication skills in at least two official languages of the Western Cape.
- Proven computer literacy (MS Office).
- Ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Strong planning and organising skills.
- Willingness to learn, adapt and work in agricultural and government-related environments.
- Professionalism, reliability and a positive attitude.
Eligibility Criteria
- South African citizen residing in the Western Cape.
- Unemployed graduate.
- Age:
- Youth between 18 and 35 years; and
- Graduates between 36 and 45 years may also be considered.
- Completed Grade 12 in the Western Cape.
- Suitable agriculture-related qualification.
- Entering an internship/developmental programme in government for the first time.
- Persons with a disability are encouraged to apply.
Recommendation (advantageous):
- You are financially constrained and have limited support or networks to help you make career choices.
- Preference will be given to applicants who studied at institutions in the Western Cape.
