Exxaro Resources is recruiting two (2) General Workers for its Coastal Coal β Durnacol operation in KwaZulu-Natal. This permanent role supports day-to-day operational and environmental rehabilitation activities on site, including maintaining safe working areas, operating basic tools/equipment (e.g., brush cutters), and assisting supervisors with general support tasks in line with safety and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Comply with all safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment by using required PPE at all times.
- Assist with rehabilitation of mined areas (e.g., filling cracks, planting grass, removing/eradicating weeds).
- Conduct pre-use inspections and routine maintenance checks on equipment; identify and report defects or unsafe conditions.
- Operate and maintain small tools and brush cutters according to safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
- Perform waste removal and cleaning tasks to prevent blockages and ensure equipment functionality.
- Support supervisors/foremen with operational assistance and communicate issues or findings clearly.
- Identify, rectify (where possible), and report unsafe practices and hazards to supervisors promptly.
- Assist various sections with general support tasks as instructed to support teamwork and productivity.
- Participate in front area inspections and support adherence to loading and transport procedures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement through collaboration, practical problem-solving, and proactive support.

Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum Education: Grade 10 / Standard 8 (essential)
- Additional Requirement: AET Level 4 (essential)
- Experience: 0β6 months relevant job-specific experience (essential)
- Assessments: Psychometric assessment (essential)
- Medical: Certificate of Fitness (essential)
- Ability to adhere to safety regulations and operating procedures
- Ability to identify, rectify, and report unsafe practices and hazardous situations
- Basic equipment operation/maintenance exposure (including small tools and brush cutters)
