Key Responsibilities
- Ensure shelves are fully stocked, neat, correctly priced, and aligned to merchandising standards.
- Check sell-by dates, rotate stock regularly, and report expired/damaged/low/out-of-stock items.
- Restock merchandise from deliveries and storeroom; keep storeroom organised and tidy.
- Follow up on customer out-of-stock queries using the out-of-stock list and resolve timeously.
- Maintain product knowledge to assist customers effectively.
- Support “back shopping” and handle merchandise carefully to prevent losses.
- Process point-of-sale transactions (cash/cards/vouchers/coupons) accurately and securely.
- Process loyalty cards and accelerated partner loyalty transactions.
- Handle exchanges/returns when authorised by the Frontshop Leader.
- Follow cash handling controls: drop safe procedures, approvals for voids/price changes, and accurate daily takings.
- Assist with stock counts/stocktaking and loading/offloading stock when required.
- Maintain housekeeping, health & safety compliance, and uniform/personal appearance standards.
- Assist with training team members and report suspicious behaviour to management.

- Able to identify issues, solve where appropriate, and escalate correctly.

Eligibility Criteria
Essential
- Grade 12 (Matric / Senior Certificate)
- 0–6 months retail work experience
Advantageous
- 1 year retail experience
- Certification in Retail Business Management
- Basic computer skills (Word/Excel/Outlook), numerical skills, SAP exposure
Special Conditions of Employment
- Must be able to work retail hours
- South African citizen
- MIE checks, no criminal record, and clear credit rating
- Driver’s licence and own reliable transport
