As a Process Engineer Intern at Unilever, you will be responsible for:

  • Meeting all the requirements of the internship program, which includes training attendance, assessment completion, project fulfillment, logbook upkeep, and presentations when required.
  • Playing a critical role in developing Unilever’s factories to become world-class, which means achieving zero defects, zero waste, and zero losses.
  • Applying various Focused and Quality Improvement methods and tools to address losses in areas such as Safety, Quality, Cost Deployment, Customer Service, and Logistics.
  • Populating the Cost Deployment pillar with data generated by applying the Managing Manufacturing Performance Code, a crucial step in focusing on key losses.
  • Working closely with line crews daily and serving as the technical trainer for line teams. You will provide coaching in phenomena identification, root cause analysis, and the implementation of countermeasures.
  • Validating all process improvements and establishing revised basic conditions on the line to eliminate losses, reduce waste, and enhance line stability.
  • Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed within your assigned operation.
  • Adhering to all site rules related to safety, quality, and the code of business principles.

Key Requirements

To qualify for this internship, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Completed a degree or National Diploma in Chemical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in using computer software programs, especially Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in English.
