What is This Learnership Program?

The Foschini Group (TFG) has a variety of learnership roles available across the country at various retail stores.

The learnership is intended for young people who want to pursue an interesting career in the retail industry.

This is your chance to work with one of South Africa’s premier fashion and lifestyle retailers!

Youths aged 18 to 29 with a Matric certificate may be able to enroll in the 12-month learnership program, which will include both practical (on-the-job) work experience and theoretical (classroom-based) training.

Candidates will be assigned to a position as a Sales Associate at one of TFG’s stores, where they will be exposed to the past-faced world of retail and fashion.

Learners will obtain the following after completing the program:

  • A nationally recognized qualification in Retail Operations.
  • Related work experience in business, personal, and technical retail abilities beneficial in any industry and throughout your career.

Sales Associate Learners will be expected to perform the following tasks:

  • Participate in all theoretical classroom learning activities.
  • Satisfy the criteria and earn the Retail Operations certificate.
  • Be an active and contributing member of the shop team, including but not limited to the following responsibilities: Customer service, sales, product management, and professional service are all areas of expertise.

Requirements

Please make sure you meet ALL of the following minimum entrance requirements before submitting your application because if you don’t, your application will be rejected:

  • Must be a South African national.
  • Must have completed Matric and passed Mathematics or Mathematics Literacy.
  • Matric English must be passed.
  • You must be between the ages of 18 and 29.
  • You must be unemployed.
  • You must NOT be enrolled or registered to enroll in a tertiary institution.
  • You must NOT be registered for another SETA learnership.
  • Must be willing, capable, and dedicated to completing a 12-month learnership.
  • Must be available to work weekends, shifts, and flexible hours. Must be cheerful.
  • Must be enthusiastic about retail.
  • Must be customer-focused and enthusiastic about providing excellent service.
  • Must be dedicated and have a strong work ethic.
