Sasol is recruiting Learner Artisans (Millwright) to complete an apprenticeship programme aligned to QCTO/SETA requirements and the National Artisan Moderation Board (NAMB). The programme is designed to train and develop candidates to become qualified Millwright artisans through structured workplace learning, safety-focused execution, and ongoing technical development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply basic plant/mine process knowledge and support maintenance tasks under supervision.
  • Use and maintain plant maintenance documentation and work management systems.
  • Participate in daily meetings, toolbox talks, risk assessments, and safety improvement activities.
  • Identify hazards, complete task risk assessments, and apply emergency procedures when required.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and comply with waste disposal procedures.
  • Provide progress updates and capture maintenance history feedback accurately to support renewals/upgrades.
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) activities and contribute to performance improvement initiatives.
  • Support team delivery by meeting deadlines, coordinating work effectively, and taking initiative where appropriate.
  • Identify training and development needs and contribute to a personal development plan (PDP) with leadership guidance.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Completed Matric, N3, or equivalent, with a pass in Mathematics, Science, and English.
  • 0–1 year relevant experience (where applicable).
  • Preference may be given to designated groups and people with disabilities in line with Sasol’s Employment Equity Plan.
