About the Learnership

The SAFCOL learnership program is a formal and structured one-year initiative that includes accredited theoretical and practical training.

  • Stipend: You’ll receive a monthly stipend throughout the program.
  • Qualification: Upon successful completion, you’ll be awarded a nationally recognized qualification.
  • Career Prospects: This experience will enhance your employability with forestry companies and contractors. You can also consider starting your own Small, Medium, and Micro-sized Enterprise (SMME) in this field.

Available Learnerships

You have two options to choose from, each offering a unique learning experience:

  1. Silviculture Learnership (NQF level 3): This program focuses on the management of forests, ensuring they are healthy and sustainable.
  2. General Forestry (NQF level 1): This learnership provides a basic understanding of the forestry environment.

How to Qualify

To be eligible for this exciting opportunity, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Be a South African Citizen.
  • Be an unemployed youth aged 18 to 35.
  • Possess a Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
