Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, you should meet the following minimum requirements:
- Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate) or NTC3 in welding.
- At least 1 year of working experience in a welding workshop environment.
- Successful completion of a Trade Test Certificate (Welder Artisan) is advantageous.
- Possession of a valid Code B or C driver’s license is beneficial.
Primary Duties
Your primary responsibilities as an Artisan Assistant Welding will include:
- Assisting the Artisan in various welding tasks involved in the maintenance, manufacturing, and installation of structural equipment.
- Identifying and handling welding equipment and tools.
- Maintaining a clean and organized workshop, ensuring proper care of tools and equipment.
- Conducting minor welding repairs when necessary.
Knowledge
You should possess the following knowledge:
- Welding techniques and practices.
- Basic safety knowledge and adherence to safe working procedures.
- General maintenance principles.
Skills
The following skills are essential for this role:
- Ability to perform minor welding repairs.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Competence in completing job cards.
- Understanding of welding work instructions and procedures.
