The Pick n Pay Graduate Trainee Buyer learnership offers recent graduates a chance to gain valuable work experience in the retail industry.

As a Trainee Buyer, you will receive on-the-job training, develop skills in purchasing and inventory management, and have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of Pick n Pay.

The positions are available at Pick n Pay Corporate offices in Kenilworth, Cape Town, and Kensington, Johannesburg.

Minimum Requirements

• BCom Degree in Marketing, Finance, Management, Maths, Stats, Economics, or related fields from a mainstream university.
• Honors Degree (advantageous).
• Recent graduate with no work experience required.
• Computer literate (proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Work closely with buying support teams and participate in on-the-job training.
• Attend meetings, workshops, and team-building events.
• Compile reports and present findings to other staff members.
• Analyze existing systems and propose improvements.
• Conduct research and assist the Manager or Supervisor.
• Complete fieldwork and visit different work sites when necessary.
• Provide administrative support for the buying process.
• Maintain spreadsheets and reports.
• Build relationships with suppliers.
• Research new suppliers and make recommendations.
• Assist with general office administration and ad hoc duties.
