The Department of Tourism in South Africa has launched two Youth Skill Development Programmes, aimed at upskilling unemployed youth and graduates to contribute meaningfully to the country’s economy.

  1. Food Safety Assurers Skills Programme

The Department of Tourism invites unemployed youth from KwaZulu-Natal to apply for the Food Safety Assurers Skills Training Programme.

This 12-month programme aims to widen employment opportunities in the hospitality and tourism sector, and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

Stipend: R150 per day Requirements:

  • Age: between 18 and 35
  • Matric qualification, with fluency in English or a Tourism and Hospitality Qualification (provide certified copies of certificates)
  • CV with a motivational letter
  • Certified ID copy
  • Proof of residence and any relevant certificates
  • If you have participated in the Department’s learnership or skills programmes before, declare it in the motivational letter.

The Department of Tourism invites unemployed youth from the North West Province to apply for the Professional Cookery Programme.

This 12-month programme aims to widen employment opportunities in the hospitality and tourism sector, and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
