What is DBSA?

What is The DBSA Internship?

Graduates who are interested in obtaining experience and joining the team of internal auditors are offered an internship opportunity by the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA).

The internship is designed for candidates who desire to pursue a career in internal auditing and follows the IAT structured training program that will last for 2 years.

The program’s primary performance areas are:

  • Keeping track of client processes and practices to better understand audits.
  • The overall effectiveness of audit procedures, including risk assessment and identification, creation of audit plans, fieldwork, and development of audit conclusions in accordance with internal audit methodology.
  • Throughout the audit, keep in constant contact with clients by attending and leading client meetings.
  • Finish the prescribed audit task within the budget allotted.
  • Perform research on particular topics related to internal audits.
  • Manage your personal productivity deliverables punctually and effectively to make sure they are submitted on schedule and to your satisfaction.

Important Measures:

  • Knowledge of the internal auditing procedure.
  • Implementation of the suggested learning interventions.
  • Attendance at audit meetings.
  • Fulfillment of audit deadlines.

Requirements

This internship program will require applicants to meet the following criteria to be considered ideal applicants:

  • Applicants must have a BCom degree or another degree in internal auditing that is appropriate and must have been earned.
  • Studying for an Honours degree is advantageous.
  • Must possess strong communication abilities (verbal and written).
  • Must be familiar with computers and Microsoft Office (MS-Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook).
  • Must be eager and capable of learning.
