Job Description:

The primary goal of this role is to generate orders for the assigned geographical area by managing customers and resources effectively.

As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for building strong customer relationships and promoting the company’s safety equipment solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively develop and maintain customer relationships
  • Cultivate long-term partnerships with identified customers in the assigned geographic area
  • Focus on sales of the company’s safety equipment portfolio
  • Collaborate with customers to determine the ideal device/solution portfolio based on their needs
  • Serve as the main point of contact for devices/solutions, utilizing available company resources
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key customers and relevant bodies to maximize sales potential
  • Prepare and manage the sales budget and forecast for the assigned area
  • Participate in road shows and exhibitions to showcase products
  • Stay updated on market trends, competitors, and customer developments
  • Assist with receivables management
  • Monitor competitors’ sales performance and maintain the company’s competitive position
  • Engage in negotiation and deal closure processes

Administration:

  • Update Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system regularly
  • Conduct market and product analysis with product specialists
  • Maintain call reports and submit weekly planners to the Sales Manager
  • Respond promptly to all quote requests and send brochures within 24 hours

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with the company’s principles of business and local laws and regulations
  • Adhere to occupational safety and health laws and other applicable regulations

Communication and Brand:

  • Support brand recognition at the branch level
  • Manage internal communications within the workshop
  • Establish strong relationships with distributors, customers, and employees within the branch

Regulatory Affairs and Quality:

  • Ensure compliance with corporate quality and environmental policies
  • Implement effective processes to demonstrate compliance with relevant directives, standards, and requirements
  • Oversee the quality management of processes in your area of responsibility

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric (Grade 12 qualification)
  • Tertiary qualification (preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a sales environment
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar environment
  • Own reliable transport and valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work outside of normal working hours as required

Advantageous:

  • Experience in industries such as Agriculture, Emergency services, Food and beverage, Mining, Oil, gas, and chemical, Steel and metal, Water and waste
  • Familiarity with portfolios like Breathing systems and products, Engineered safety solutions, Firefighting equipment, Gas detection products, PPE, Rescue and escape concepts and products in the Mining Industry
