This 12-month programme offers workplace experience to students who have completed the theoretical component of a relevant qualification. The successful candidate will assist in conducting quality tests, reporting on results, and supporting compliance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality tests and compile reports
  • Communicate any out-of-specification results
  • Maintain product and packaging quality
  • Ensure records are accurate and audit-ready
  • Support efforts to minimize costs through quality assurance

  • Understanding of microbiology, chemistry, biochemistry, physics, and mathematics in a food industry context

Eligibility Criteria

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics & Physical Science (minimum 40%) – Mathematics Literacy not accepted
  • Two South African languages passed with 40%
  • Studying towards a qualification in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Food Technology, or a related field
  • Completed theoretical modules; seeking practical exposure
  • Must have a letter from the institution requiring in-service training
  • Must not have previously completed an in-service programme
  • South African citizen
  • Employment Equity candidates preferred
  • Aged between 18–35
  • Must have been unemployed at the time of appointment
