Cashbuild – General Assistant

Description

Cashbuild requires a General Assistant (External Applications Only) to deliver comprehensive customer service and support in-store operations at various locations across the country. The successful candidate will be responsible for stock merchandising, shelf labelling, and maintaining housekeeping standards within their designated area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service:
    • Advise and assist customers with product enquiries
    • Resolve customer complaints effectively
  • Merchandising Standards:
    • Merchandise stock safely according to the store layout and planograms
    • Ensure that bulk stock areas are organised and accessible
  • Housekeeping:
    • Maintain a clean and hazard-free work area
    • Complete required checklists for canteen and toilet/showers schedules
  • Safety (OHSA) Requirements:
    • Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of protective gear
    • Report any discrepancies to the Store Manager
  • Stock Management:
    • Report damaged stock to the Store Manager
  • General Duties:
    • Achieve set targets and complete tasks accurately
    • Identify and resolve issues within the framework of company policies
    • Collaborate with colleagues and communicate effectively with all stakeholders

Eligibility & Requirements

  • Education:
    • Minimum Grade 10 (NQF 3) with at least one year of work-related experience, or Grade 12 without related work experience
  • Skills & Attributes:
    • Ability to communicate effectively in English and the dominant local language
    • Competence in performing basic calculations accurately
    • Strong administrative skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays
  • Other Requirements:
    • Must possess a valid South African ID or work permit
