Key Responsibilities

  • Cash Handling: Process all Point of Sale (POS) transactions accurately, ensuring no stock leaves unpaid.
  • Customer Service: Provide fast, friendly, and efficient service while assisting customers at checkout.
  • Administration: Maintain, compile, and file all cashier-related documentation.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to OHSA regulations and report discrepancies to the Store Manager.
  • Security Awareness: Maintain system password control, handle cash safely, and follow security protocols.
  • Performance & Productivity: Achieve set targets, work accurately, and uphold company standards.
  • Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Identify and resolve issues while escalating when necessary.
  • Work Planning & Handling Pressure: Plan tasks effectively and perform well under pressure.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Interact courteously with customers and colleagues, ensuring effective communication.

Eligibility Criteria

Education:

  • Grade 12 OR
  • Minimum of 1 year of work-related experience.

Experience:

  • No prior experience required for candidates with Grade 12.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to communicate in English and the dominant local language.
  • Valid South African ID or work permit.
  • Strong administrative and numerical skills.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
