This is a structured, outcome-based training opportunity aimed at developing Grade 12 graduates into process operators through institutional learning and on-the-job training over a 36-month Learner’s Agreement. Regular assessments and progress monitoring form part of the programme, and permanent employment after completion is not guaranteed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in a structured, outcome-based learnership focused on steel manufacturing process operations.
  • Complete institutional training and workplace (on-the-job) training requirements in line with the Learner’s Agreement.
  • Take part in regular assessments, progress reviews, and monitoring activities throughout the programme.
  • Adhere to site rules, safety standards, and PPE requirements as applicable to the training environment.
  • Maintain accurate engagement with training schedules and submit required learning evidence/documentation when requested.

  • Willingness to learn, be assessed, and develop technical competence over an extended programme period.
  • Reliable, disciplined, and able to follow procedures and instructions.
  • Comfortable working in structured training environments with performance monitoring and deadlines.
  • Responsive and organised in communication (including managing application steps and email updates).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Grade 12 (Matric) completed with at least the following minimum results:
    • English: 45%
    • Mathematics: 40% OR Mathematics Literacy: 50%
  • Successful candidates will be subject to a medical examination.
  • Preference will be given to applicants regarded as South African youth (under 35), as indicated in the listing.
